I filed for IU in Dec. 2011 and they recently scheduled me for a C&P today including a hearing test,audio,and other test. I had a hearing test about 18 months ago on another claim and the hearing test really has little bearing on my IU claim but it's a test they requested so today I get up at 5:30 am and drive about 1 1/2 hrs for a an 8am. hearing test. The guy giving me the test acted angry and rude right from the start and after the test he says "Well there is no change from the test you took just a year ago and I don't understand why you are requesting an increase in your hearing loss compensation after just one year." I told him, first of all I didn't request an increase in compensation for hearing and I don't get any compensation for hearing loss to begin with and it was the RO that requested another hearing exam. His reply was that they don't just schedule people for for a hearing exam for no reason. I agree that I don't see any point in another exam but complain to the...

Prep for decision
Im so angry i need to vent
Checked my ebenefits today- it moved backwards to prep for decision, with a new estimated completion date from 2/2013 - 8/2013
This is absolute horse shit, My claim will be two years old in a few weeks, Now its saying that? i cant believe this shit!
I'm honestly tired of the "backlog" speech, get shit done and get it done right the first time that would help out ALOT
Im about to say fuck this i'm seriously tired of thinking about this every day

The Journey Is Over
Without God and VBN the results of this process would not be possible. So many great things for my family and me have happen in the last 30 days. I filed my VA claim in Feb 2012, March 2012 I filed for SSDI, May of 2012 I was denied SSDI, JUN of 2012 I retired with thirty years of service, Jun 2012 retained SSDI Attorney and she filed for reconsideration, Sep 2012 SSDI was approved with over 22k in retro after attorney fees, and today my VA claim was approved with a rating of a 100%, I wanna thank all the wonderful people who shared their experience and all the great people like Cruiser, Insider, Old Medic, Donna who allowed us to tap into their knowledge and many more who's names I cant remember I wanna thank them too. This process will challenge your faith but remember when u have done all u can do u have to turn the process over to a higher calling, because a decision on your claims has already been made, the only problem is we don't know what that decisions is.

contacting a congressman....Don't do it !!!
I just called up my VSO in Columbia, Sc (VFW) just to chat and ask about my initial claim from June 2011, Being it's been 15 months, just curious of the status, She went over my file and asked about the special corresspondance I had in my file from june 2012, "OH, It's probably the letter i sent to my congressman." She, balled me out, telling me what happens when you contact a congressman, 1st of all they snatch the file, throw it in a locked box. 2nd it takes about 2 weeks for some special RO to look at it and write a letter to the congressman, then the file sits in the box til theres a reply from the congressman, another 2 weeks, then it goes back the the file processinga area, ussually the beginning file area and sits for another 2 weeks, and , if the file was getting rated.... regardless, its snatched up and put in a locked box......which i found out was my mistake!! my claim could of been done by now, so i am literally 3 months behind..... AB8 Letter Updated, Claim Complete?
Wonderful news, my claim is finally "complete" in Ebenefits. I saw the AB8 Letter got updated and is now showing a dollar amount, but no percentage. It says $1397 for the gross benefit amount and the same for net amount paid. The effective date is 1 January 2012 (though I EAS'ed on 5 December 2011). After combined evaluation it just says "percent". From what I understand the AB8 usually has the actual percentage listed.
When I go through the compensation table this dollar amount is equal to 70% with 2 children. I am actually married with 2 children so this would be an error. My husband and children are all listed in the DEERS page. I have not yet received the letter in the mail, as it went "complete" on 22 October. Hopefully it will come soon. Should I expect any kind of deposit any time soon? Should I give any credence to the current AB8 Letter? I did not retire so I would not require the DFAS...

EBennies/Contentions
Just checked on EBennies under date of claim and it only shows one contention (PTSD New), I have filed through my VSO four contentions and received verification back from DAV in Louisville. Is this a mistake or is it just typical for EBennies to not be right as so many on here have stated? WOW, Ebennies was on the ball this week
Sometimes Ebennies is on top of things. I have been in the Gathering of Evidence for 7 months and with in the last few updates went to Review if evidence. I received a second letter from the Denver RO requesting more evidence on the 19th of Oct. I sent the required evidence in on the 20th and on the 23rd ebennies showed that they have received the required evidence requested from me..WOW
When does the C&P exam get scheduled? (Haven't had one yet?)
Also what is the meaning of this abbreviation, SMR's received from RMC? Service Medical records received from R_______M______C_______?

Here we go again after a visit to the RO where the whole floor is bare they are rearranging the facility no work getting done again as they repaint the deck chairs on the VA's titanic what the hell can't these people get anything right and how long has this been going on. no work any get paid I just love it. went down stairs to my VSO and was informed it has been this why for most of the month god bless our government they really know how to f__k up the thing is beyond FUBAR. well at lest time is marching on 12 years first claim and waiting (NOD 10 years) 6 years and waitng ( NOD ) and the newest at 17 months and waiting go figure. hurry up and wait how sweet it is.

Wait is Finally Over
I just wanted to thank everyone here for all the encouragement and advice I have been given as I journeyed through land of VA disability!! My journey started at the Houston RO back in August, 2010 and ended completely on October 22, 2012. There were alot of bumps and roadblocks and detours through out my journey but it was all worth it !! I just say to all who are still waiting for the end of their journeys, please be patient and you will get through it all. Thank you all again !!

Is AB8 legit?
I am already rated at 70% and filed a new claim back in August. The other day e bennies showed that claim as "Pending Decision Approval."
Today I checked e bennies and the claim was gone. So I opened up the AB8 letter and it showed a 90 % rating.
I have not revived word from my VSO, did not get back pay, and have not reviews the big brown envelope.
Is the AB8 legit?

Releasing decision over the phone?
I have read several instances on this forum where folks have been told by Peggy what their decision on their claim was. I just called and was told that a decision had been made but it was against policy to tell me on the phone. Anyone else experienced this?

Calculation and dependancy claim
My first question is how they retro me if my deferred iteams bumped me from 60% to 80% now. Was told that one item was dated back to original date 12-13-10. Then my other three items were dated back to march 2012? All are deferred. How would they calculate the retro? Any help.
Second my VSO says my dependacy claim has been denied due to improper paperwork? I submitted my previous marraige info and divorce info as well as my current marraige info and spouse info. What else do they need?
