Copy of Letter to VA IG

In June 2010 I filed a claim for IHD. In Sept 2011 the claim was approved, retroactive to 2003. Being a US Army retiree an audit was needed prior to payment of retro. The VA requested an audit from DFAS and the audit was completed and returned on 19 Dec 2011. The audit showed that the VA owed  $17,133 and DFAS owing nothing.

On 13 Jan, 2012 I submitted an IRIS request asking if my audit had been completed and received back at the VA.  The response was that Yes it had been received (enclosure 1).

On 23 Jan, 2012 I submitted a follow up IRIS asking when I could expect payment. The response was within 45 days. The response also said that the VA had not yet...

Just Concerned

Hello all,

I has 3 C&P's last month, 1 for sleep apnea and 1 for Neuro on October 11, then I had my final 1 for Mental health on October 16th.  Then last week my Ebeney showed after almost 2 years it went from Gathering Evidence to Prep for Decision within a week.  I am concern because it shows that completed was only the October 11 (2) exams and left out the October 16th exam.

I was a little concerned because Ebenny's only showed the 1 week in October's exam completed, but it didn't show the 2nd weeks 2 exams, at all.  I just hope that they have the second weeks exam Doctors notes and findings, when they make the decisions.

this is what it says, only the ,
first week 2 exams      FTOPC

Hmmm...

My VSO called me back this morning after waiting for only 2 weeks, so I told her that I had filed for an increase for hearing loss on Aug. 15th, and that it doesn't show on eBennies, nor have I gotten anything from my RO. I was again informed that it was waiting to be included with my claim for new contentions. I'm sorry, but, just what is it waiting for? Is that anything like waiting in line for a roller coaster or something like that? I would have have asked her, but she went on to let me know that my dependency claim was in search mode for the required documentation that I had sent in. Yeah, it kinda got lost. So before I go re-fax this info, I was wondering if someone would educate me on what the claim for an increase is "waiting" for.
Thanx all!

Forgot to add... Had a hearing exam on Sep. 5th, and am now the proud owner of a set of very cool, and extremely helpful hearing aids.

From "Preparation for Decision" back to "Review of evidence"

Hello all. Last friday my claim was in the Preparation for Decision phase with an estimated completion time of 1 DEC to 1 FEB. as of yesterday it went back to Review of Evidence with an estimated completion of that phase 16 NOV to 26 DEC. With an overall estimated completion time between MAY to OCT 2013.

I'm sure this can happen for many reasons. In the meantime I have a short notice appointment tomorrow for TBI Polytrauma. Also waiting to complete a Mefloquine/Lariam survey through the WRIIC in NJ. As as well taking part in Non VA fee based chiropractic care only 1.5 miles from my home and approved through my VAMC.

Maybe some of this has to do with my claim going backwards.Time will tell I guess. Once my claim is complete I plan to move back to the West Coast closer to friends and family. Retirement in NC is not working out as expected but hey that's why you have contingency plans and stay flexible.

Benefits Explorer Update Claim back to Gathering of Evidence

So my claim went from Preparation for Notification to Gathering of evidence, however the benefits explorer and COE bumped my rate from 60 to 70... and it also states decision notification sent!

I think I've seen others talk about their claims doing this, anyone have some insight as to how long it took theirs to go to completion after additional review?

I think they're confused with my Sleep Apnea, which I didnt struggle with while I was in Iraq, but they have already rated me for TBI & PTSD, so perhaps they're addressing it as secondary to those?

Back To Gathering Evidence for the 3rd time!!

This F@c$%#ing ridiculous!!!! My claim went to gatherinf of evidence for the #rd time out of Waco I had an estimated date of 12/03/2012 now i have a NEW one of 12/15/1013!!! This is insane, I already sent my entire medical evidence and file 3 times. I really dont understand what more evidence they want. this is a horrible system to take care of vets. I should of done the same when they gave me orders to deploy, i would it said I have an estimated date of deployment of bla bla bla and not the ones in the orders and keep pushing the date back.

Can someone please help us out with some real stats about eBenefits?  For example, how much can we rely on what's posted about our claims?  smiley: nerd

Instead of VA working to get things done as they have predicted on e-benefits.They hit the first date then they change the dates. Push it back even further. But they can't get the other info posted in a timely manner.

801 Days - Prep for Decision Phase to Prep for Notification Phase

Well, after 801 days, my claim moved to the Prep for Decision Phase on 5 Nov 12.  This phase closed on 6 Nov 12.  Now I'm in the Prep for Notification Phase.

My claim is with the Waco VARO and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Waco VARO with regards to how long the Prep for Notification Phase might take.

Thanks,

I have a 6 month old claim that E-benefits showed in "Preparation for Notification" for the last month but now
shows up in "Gathering of Evidence". I called "800" number today and was told my claim was in "development"
What the heck is "Development "? Sounds like I am headed the wrong direction.

Hello all,

I has 3 C&P's last month,  1 for Neuro on October 11, then I had my final 2,  (1) for sleep apnea and (1) for Mental health on October 16th.  On November 2nd,  Ebeney showed after almost 2 years it went from Gathering Evidence to Prep for Decision within a week.  I am concerned because Ebeney  shows only 1 for Neuro  exam on October 11.  It left out completely the final 2,  (1) for sleep apnea and (1) for Mental health on October 16th

Being that my claims went into the Prep for Decision phase, I hope they get the final 2 C&P EXAM results before they make any decisions!

Is it also seems as I stated in an earlier post, all the dates for a lot of us have been moved up 1-2 years, is there something wrong with the system or can this just be a big blunder.  In the past months I have not seen it go to such an extreme as this.

Thanks for any input,

Rocky

Yet my VSO and Peggy both said the system they were looking at showed claim was in review and no info needed at this time and that e-bennies was having a tech problem. but ebennies tech support said its a RO issue. E-Benefits/Claim Question

Hello all,

I have a quick question regarding e-benefits and my (now closed) claim.

I noticed under the "Claim Status" section that their are two sections particularly "What we received" and "What we haven't received":

Under the section "What we haven't received" it shows =
Continuity - med evid since service needed (low backpain), it shows this for literally all of the condition's I claimed. Does this mean that the VA didn't...

Nervous

I filed my initial claim back in June 2011. Claim is for depression, Fibromyalgia, Lower back injury, Cancer, and hysterectomy related to cancer. Anyway I started in the Roanoke office and moved back to PA shortly after. It took them forever to transfer my claim to Philadelphia and then sat in that under review stage forever. From last October until June to be exact. Then it was in review of evidence from June until November 1st. On the Nov 5 the Preparation for Decision Phase ended and Pending Decision Approval began. Preparation had an estimated completion date of Dec31st to June 2013. Pending decision had a completion date of 11/11/12-11/26/12. Pending decision was completed today and it is now in Prep for Notification.

Now the part that makes me nervous is how fast these last 3 phases have gone. Makes me think they have denied my whole claim or something so it's real easy to get through these phases. Ugh anyone else have experience with their claims going in hyperspeed...
