Good Day:

    Does anyone know and/or have this happen to you:  I have submitted a NOD-DRO for denied disability claim five weeks ago, but now my Post 911 education payments are flagged for Hardship.  I contacted the VA which I was informed that both disability NOD and Post 911 are flagged for Hardship but they do not know when I will receive Post 911-BAH stipend which pays towards my rent.

I was hoping that October would be my month, but no luck. Maybe November will be my lucky month. My effective date of my increase was 01 Nov 11 but I am owed a back pay all the way back to Aug 09. Oh well. I just don't see why us old retirees have to wait soooooooo long to get our retro payments. For what it is worth, my claim is out of Winston-Salem. I will keep my fingers crossed as long as my arthritis allows me to.

Does anyone know if the Roanoke office is closed due to Sandy?  Getting through to the 800 number is almost impossible this morning.  Hoping someone on here may be able to provide a quicker awnser

Started this process on 9 May 12, filed with the St. Paul,MN-Reginal Office. I was rated 10% from back in June 1988 -- so thought it was time to try and see if I could get a ratings increase for my back strain . Thru this whole process- the VA kept me informed and up to date on whats going on with my claim. I didn't think I would hear any thing from them until late Nov 2012 or Dec 2012. Received my VA packet on 17 Sept 12. Talk about fast service - WOW!! Needless to say -- I was pleasantly surprised to hear back so soon and with the results !!

What the VA decided is: Anxiety disorder nos, with mild PTSD and secondary depression sysptoms--- Percent % assigned = 30% (from my Viet Nam days).
Low back strain previously under DC5295--old percent assigned 10%-------new percent assigned =20%, 7th cranial nerve injury previously rated as...

Anyone know what possible timeline for Fin. hardship in San Diego?  All C&P's completed, they keep extending the date out requesting my Service Med Records.  I have written them, spoke to them to explan that back in the 70's and early 80's they did not have computer copies, when I transfered to Fort Ord they lost my records (paper) The Aid Station just started a new record from that date. But they keep requesing it.  Any suggestions on how to help them with this???  Thanks

Husband tried to call the 1-800 number last week and every day this week, could never even get past the menu as it stated they were not taking calls because they were to busy!!!  He kept calling back with the same response.  He finally called the 202 number yesterday and a recording said to call the 1-800 number!!!  This is ridiculous, we have both about given up on the VA.  IRIS will not respond either, it has been 2 weeks since we emailed them. 

In the meantime we are one payment ahead of foreclosure and one car payment behind.  We have already borrowed all the money we can from relatives and have sold every and anything that we don't need.  I even sold my mother's diamond ear rings that she gave me!!!  I just don't know what to do anymore.  Plus tomorrow he goes in for another surgery.... sigh.  Claim is in the Louisville VA, does anyone know what else to do??  Have already contacted the Congressman, yeah...

My husband's claim was at pending decision approval yesterday, this morning it would not let us log in, then when we got it, it said preparation for decision and said that it required additional review and bumped the completion date a few months. Then a couple hours later, it went to back to decision approval and shaved off a few months. I wonder what's going on. Could it be because he had one C&P appointment for one contention several months ago and then One C&P appointment for the other 5 this month? I swear, this process should entitle all you veterans to a disability percent in itself!

My claim went into Prep for notification a few minutes ago...ya I check that often...and I nearly pissed my pants with excitement. What are the odds that if I call the VA they will let me know the decision made? There is nothing but the AB7 in the letter generator.

From 09/2008, I am on PENSION because service connection for PTSD was denied "Not enough evidence of stressor" . Didn't appeal because I did not want to have to talk about it again.  Now I have CHRONIC PTSD!!  I'm in  therapy, did an  IN-PATIENT PTSD, Hospitalizations, super MEDS, etc. I got over my guilt and decided to try again for Compensation. On 09/2011,  I  re-opened claim for Compensation with more EVIDENCE, much more evidence. Winston-Salem has it marked GATHERING EVIDENCE with a note it is past due from 07/2012.  10/17/2012 checking E-benefits, I see a Pension Claim for me opened in PHILADELPHIA marked STATUS CHANGE New...

Since 2-20-2012 DHs claim for increase for hearing and kidney disease has been sitting in Under Review.  He talked to his VSO Tuesday and was told something was in Pending.  VSO also said it doesn't look like they want a C & P exam on these 2.

Fast forward to the mail delivery: He has 2 C & P exams scheduled for Nov. 19, in Fayetteville, Ar. 

I don't know what  shook this claim loose all of a sudden but we'll take it!!!!

Hello:
 Hope you can help me. On October 16, I send over the letter for a DRO to lok at my claim. About how longcan it take. My original claim was denied, and I recived the letter on Sept. 24 and filed my appeal on Sept 25. with the DVA hich has my power of attonery. On OCt. 24, I received the letter to decide on a normal appeal or a DRO, which I choose the DRO. How long will it be for me to get any get of answer. I do not want to hurry the process. Just checked e-benefits and my IU claim has just moved to preparation for decision they also said that they have sent to social security for my disability medical records. I filed for SSD after I got my 60% hearing lost from the VA and I got SSD for my hearing lost along with artritis of back,neck and legs, being a diabetic. Only my hearing lost was SC. When I applied for IU I had sent my letter from SS to them am going back down to SS office and get another copy of it and send it off to the Winston- Salem office to help speed up my claim up since it may take months for SS to send it to them.I know its a long shot that I will get it but am taking that shot. I really enjoy this site and seeing so many guys getting IU, I do not deserve it as much as alot of you guys do but am trying since I meet the 60% thres hold.

I checked Ebenefits and my AB8 letter reflected my new % but the effective date showed the day I had my C&P exam and not the date of filing. Anyone know how this could come about? Thanks for the help!

I called and asked for her to contact the VARO, request my C&P exam results and have them mail the results to me. Well I opened the mailbox today and there they were.  Wow, they saved me a 3hr round trip and I appreciate it.  By the way, all three write up were favorable.     So if you need a copy of your C&P exam, just call Peggy and request them.

Has any body had any dealings with SLC RO? I am just wondering what is their normal turn around time for an initial claim. My claim just happens to be a BDD claim. Are they good at giving a good fair rating? Just wondering.
